The original Stem Player (Stem 1) connects to StemFM with a USB cable — not Bluetooth. Once connected, StemFM can read the device, manage its library, and transfer stems straight to its onboard storage.
Before you start
- Charge your Stem Player so it has enough power to transfer.
- Use the USB cable that came with the device, or a known good data cable.
- Open StemFM in a Chromium-based browser and sign in.
Connect over USB
- 1
Plug in the Stem Player
Connect it to your computer with the USB cable.
- 2
Open the device controls
In StemFM, open your Stem Player device panel.
- 3
Authorize the device
Your browser shows a device-permission prompt — choose your Stem Player and confirm.
- 4
Wait for it to read
StemFM reads the device library and shows what is on it.
- 5
Add stems
Send tracks from StemFM to the device, then play them back on the Stem Player itself.
Disconnect
When you are done, eject or disconnect from the device panel and unplug the cable. Avoid pulling the cable mid-transfer.
